Julie began her career as a Certified Public Accountant in NYC and subsequently worked in financial software development. After staying home for several years to raise her four children, she began teaching yoga in 2009 to share her passion for the practice. She is the former owner of Hot Yoga Lake Placid and the owner and founder of High Peaks Yoga School through which she runs a Yoga Alliance teacher training program. She holds a 500 Hour Experienced Yoga Teacher certification through Yoga Alliance, a BS in Accounting from SUNY Binghamton, and a CPA certification. Julie joined the School of the Arts in 2017. She teaches Vinyasa Flow.
Julie has practiced and studied yoga for over nineteen years and has been teaching since 2009. She hosts international yoga retreats as well as 200 and 300-hour teacher trainings in both Saratoga Springs and the Lake Placid, NY area. In addition to yoga Julie teaches meditation and breathwork. With an emphasis on alignment, she encourages students to find their inner truth and light. She earned a BS in marketing and human resources from Syracuse University and is 500-hour E-RYT Yoga Alliance certified. Julie joined the School of the Arts in 2017. She teaches Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga.
After practicing Bikram and Vinyasa yoga for two years, Amy completed two teacher trainings in 2012 and 2014. By combining various lineages of yoga, her classes are an alignment-based flow that teach awareness while increasing strength, balance, and endurance. She earned a BA in English from Union College and studied dance in the MFA program at New York University. She holds 200-hour E-RYT and 500-hour RYT certification through Yoga Alliance. She is also a Level I and II Freestyle and Level II Children’s Specialist through Professional Ski Instructors of America and is a former Board of Trustees member of Capital Repertory Theatre. Amy joined the School of the Arts in 2018. She teaches Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga.
Haley is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor with an additional 85 hours of training in prenatal yoga. She began teaching in New York City in 2016 and relocated to Saratoga Springs in 2018 where she has continued instructing. Haley’s mission is for her students to find a safe space on their mat that allows them to practice without judgement and move in a way that is beneficial for their body. Haley joined the School of the Arts in 2019. She teaches Vinyasa Flow.
Sheri is a Troy native with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from University Albany, SUNY. She is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. Sheri is looking forward to sharing her passion for yoga with the School of the Arts community. Sheri joined the School of the Arts in 2019. She teaches Vinyasa Flow.
Judy earned her first 200-hour Yoga Alliance teaching certification in 2015 and her second in 2017. In March 2018 she graduated from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health is presently a 500-hour Yoga Alliance Kripalu certified instructor. She considers herself a lifelong learner and is passionate about helping others discover, explore, and cultivate overall wellness both on and off the mat by sharing the many benefits of yoga with her students. She earned a BA in hearing and speech education from SUNY Plattsburgh and a Master’s degree in speech/language pathology from Ithaca College. She worked as a Speech/Language Pathologist at Helping Hands Preschool for many years. Judy joined the School of the Arts in 2018. She teaches Vinyasa Flow.
Kera believes that yoga is a way of living, practiced both on and off the mat, and uses her yoga training and degree in psychology to help students reach their full potential. She focuses on alignment throughout her classes and offers both verbal cues and a hands on approach. She offers and emphasizes meditation throughout her classes to allow for the calming of the constant fluctuations of the mind, which are often accompanied with mal-adaptive automatic thoughts and emotions. She earned a BA in psychology from SUNY Plattsburgh. Kera joined the School of the Arts in 2018. She teaches Vinyasa Flow and by appointment only Aerial Yoga.
