Photographer and writer Carl Van Vechten captured intellectuals and artists in New York City from the 1930s to the 1960s with dozens of influential dancers and choreographers counted among his compelling subjects. Carl Van Vechten On Dance, a selection of Van Vechten’s portraits of the dance community on loan from the Tang Museum, opens July 10, 2020 and will be on view through December 2020.
