Free For Seniors:

A Healthy Living Dance Program from:

The National Museum of Dance & MVP Gold

The National Museum of Dance and MVP Gold are teaming up to offer the Healthy Living Dance Program free for seniors at the National Museum of Dance in the Swyer Studios, located behind the Museum building at 99 South Broadway.

The National Museum of Dance has developed a Healthy Living Dance Program specifically designed to promote the health of seniors. Over the past few years dance has been clinically proven to: fight osteoporosis and bone loss, improve cardiovascular health, ward off heart disease, increase flexibility, reduce joint pain and swelling, reduce arthritic pain, reduce depression, improve lower-limb functioning, and significantly reduce the chance of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Each class of this program, which often offers different styles of dance, will focus on teaching the importance of diet, stretching and dancing. Each class offers a low-aerobic work out that is medically approved for seniors. The classes will taught by certified, licensed professionals.

The museum encourages people to register early to guarantee admission and to allow the museum to better prepare for the event. You can register by calling the National Museum of Dance at 518-584-2225 ext 3001 or email info@dancemuseum.org.

MVP Gold is a Medicare Advantage plan available to Medicare-eligible individuals and through employer groups in Albany, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady counties.
"We're pleased that MVP Gold is sponsoring the Healthy Living Dance program," said Patrick Glavey, MVP Health Care/Preferred Care V.P. of Medicare. "We are committed to helping our members ‘Take on Life and Live Well' and this is an excellent way for older adults to stay active and have fun at the same time," he said.
