Postage Paid: Dance Around the World
An exhibit created from the museum’s archival collection of international postage stamps, which feature images of an array of traditional national dances. Regional information and cultural artifacts enhance the appreciation of the diversity of the dances illustrated on the stamps.

The C.V. Whitney Hall of Fame

The major permanent exhibit of the National Museum of Dance, the C. V. Whitney Hall of Fame features honored dance professionals who have had a major impact on dance. The annual induction of a new Honoree is a celebrated event with insight into their career and influence on the world of dance. The Hall of Fame has been renovated to provide a space deserving of its past & future inductees.

In a Labyrinth: The Dance of Butoh
Through his dramatic black and white photographs, internationally recognized photographer, Michael Manheim illustrates Butoh, a theatrical dance genre generated in post-war Japan. The exhibit includes a history of Butoh and accompanying video, affording the audience a better appreciation of the photos of this unique dance form.

Art in the Foyer
The National Museum of Dance rotates exhibits of the works of selected artists in our elegant and spacious foyer. Our artist for 2009 was Paul Kolnik, NYC Ballet photographer, and his work is currently featured in the foyer

The Washington Bathhouse
The National Museum of Dance is housed in the original Washington Bath House, an Arts and Crafts Style building from 1918 and one of several historic bathhouses in Saratoga Springs. Two adjoining bathing rooms have been fully restored and are permanently on display, honoring the history of our beautiful building.

Alfred Z. Solomon Children’s Wing
An area devoted to children’s activities, the Alfred Z. Solomon Children’s Wing provides interactive media, a children’s dance library, and a space for creative play within the museum. The Kids’ Gallery showcases rotating exhibits of children’s artwork.
The children's wing will be opening summer 2010.
