his dance career and the contributions he made to the dance world.
This exhibit features over 50 beautiful costumes worn on the hit
television show, "Dancing With The Stars." Emmy Award-winning designer Randall Christensen and
leading dance costume designer Maria McGill of Designs To Shine have lent their creations to the
museum for visitors to admire. Shoes from the show are also on loan from Worldtone Dance, a dance
shoe company with locations in both Los Angeles and New York.
An exhibit created from the museum’s archival collection
of international postage stamps, which feature images of an array of traditional national
dances. Regional information and cultural artifacts enhance the appreciation of the
diversity of the dances illustrated on the stamps.

Through his dramatic black and white photographs,
internationally recognized photographer, Michael Manheim illustrates Butoh, a
theatrical dance genre generated in post-war Japan. The exhibit includes a history of
Butoh and accompanying video, affording the audience a better appreciation of the
photos of this unique dance form.

This exhibit features A Midsummer Night's Dream, a two-act ballet based on the
play by William Shakespeare, telling a story of humans and immortals dealing
with love in a world blurred with reality and magic. The exhibit displays
photographs from previous performances of the ballet, costumes, and memorabilia
loaned to the Museum from the New York City Ballet’s archives, as well as
pieces from the Museum's own archival collection. A scene replicated from this
beloved ballet in an enchanted forest brings this wonderful ballet to life within
the Museum!
This exhibit will be open to the public through May 2011.

The major permanent exhibit of the National Museum of Dance,
the C. V. Whitney Hall of Fame features honored dance professionals who have had a major
impact on dance. The annual induction of a new Honoree is a celebrated event with
insight into their career and influence on the world of dance. The Hall of Fame has
been renovated to provide a space deserving of its past & future inductees.

The museum is housed in what was once the original Washington Bath House, an Arts & Crafts
Style building from 1918 and one of several historic bathhouses in Saratoga Springs. Two
adjoining bathing rooms have been fully restored and are permanently on display, honoring the
history of our beautiful building.

The children's wing is a place where young museum-goers have the chance to use their
imaginations to the fullest. Equipped with a variety of costumes, kids are able to perform
their dances on stage for their audiences (even if it's just mom & dad). The children's wing
is nearing completion and has a large video and book library, toys, and props. This space
gives kids the room to grow in a fun, dance-oriented environment.
