Yoga Motion • Spring Session!

  • April 10 through May 29
  • Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:30am
  • $12 per class • JOIN ANYTIME!

Yoga & creative movement for 3 to 5 year olds! This class will include a series of Yoga poses geared for children such as the Cobra, Lion and Flamingo to promote strength, flexibility, focus and creativity! This class will bring fun, laughter and the pure joy of movement to young children. Classes are taught by Peg Clark, an Occupational Therapy Assistant and Yoga Instructor.

Art in the Foyer Opening Reception

  • May 30 at 6:00pm

Art in the Foyer is an annually rotating series that welcomes dance inspired fine art from artists across the nation. The 2012 season will feature work by Christopher Duggan, a resident photographer at the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival.

Join us this evening for the opening reception of the exhibit and take the opportunity to meet and speak with Christopher himself. Wine & light hors d'oeuvres will be served. RSVPs to sue@dancemuseum.org or 518-584-2225 x3009 are greatly appreciated.

Modern Dance Master Class

Dancers' Health Day

  • July 9 at 10am

A program featuring essential information for budding dancers, serious students, and adults alike! Come learn about how the body works, common dance injuries, and how to prevent them

with: Eliza Minden, Head of Design at Gaynor Minden and author of The Ballet Companion; Linda Hamilton, Ph.D., Wellness Consultant with New York City Ballet and author of The Dancer's Way; Kim Teter, Physical Therapist; and Meghan Del Prete, Skidmore Dance Dept. Faculty Member and Owner of Reform.

This program ties in with one of our newest exhibits, En Pointe!, which explores the history, myths, and reality behind pointe shoes. See how pointe shoes are made!

NYCB Autograph Day

Save the date! Come get autographs from ballerinas of New York City Ballet. Time and names of ballerinas to be announced. Headshots and other memorabilia to be autographed will be for sale.

National Dance Day

  • July 29 at 2:00pm

National Dance Day is back and will include an all afternoon dance celebration event with choreography for different levels of expertise making it possible for people of all ages and dance backgrounds to participate, along with a special program for children in our Alfred Z. Solomon Children's Wing.

The Saratoga Regional YMCA's will all be joining the National Museum of Dance to celebrate National Dance Day.

Check Fox.com/dance in June to see the National Dance Day Choreography for all levels... learn it and join in! We will also be teaching the dances on National Dance Day at the Museum on July 29.

Song and Dance Gala

Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM will be the most exciting night of the summer season at the National Museum of Dance. Ben Vereen will be inducted as our 48th inductee into the Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney Hall of Fame that evening! He will be performing an exclusive unforgettable show for us on this special night. Also, The New York Song and Dance Company will be dazzling us with their show stopping performance!
